Challenge:
With over 400 million users, Muse Group is a global leader in music technology—yet few realize that Ultimate Guitar, MuseScore, Audacity, and MuseClass share the same home. The challenge was to unite this constellation of beloved tools into one emotionally resonant suite for music makers everywhere.
Solution:
Inspired by sonic vibration and the geometry of Suprematism, we created a system that looks, sounds, and moves like music. Each symbol, letterform, and motion behavior emerges from Muse’s own visual language—a unique form of musical notation. Every app draws from this shared foundation while expressing its own personality. Like music itself, they all play from the same notes, but in different genres.
Built long before social media, Ultimate Guitar was one of the first truly global, community-led spaces where musicians could learn, share, and create together—for free. Its rebellious mission to make music accessible to everyone lives on in this “shred” version of the custom typography, which moves and behaves with the same unruly energy that defined the platform itself.
